HSIAN-RONG TSENG, PhD
Assistant Professor Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology

Hsian-Rong Tseng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology.  He is also a member of the Crump Institute for Molecular Imaging, Institute for Molecular Medicine and California NanoSystems Institute at UCLA.   He was an organic chemist in training and has acquired research experience in micro- and nanofabrication for the applications in electronic and microfluidic devices.   Over the past six years, in collaboration with a group of biologists and physicians, his research group has developed a series of microfluidics-based in vitro molecular diagnostic technologies, capable of performing systems-oriented analysis of signaling pathways in individual cancer cells and multiparametric quantification of pluripotent status of human pluripotent stem cells.  In a boarder playing field, his research goal remains the creation of further integrated microfluidic technology platforms for the broader space in the fields of cancer and stem cell biology.
