William Quan has been the compliance officer for the UCLA JCCC Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) suites and the UCLA Human Gene Medicine Program since 2000. He is also coordinating the UCLA embryonic stem cell (ESC) laboratory start up and ensures that the UCLA ESC lab meets all FDA rules and regulations for Good Manufacturing Practices. Quan holds a BS degree in Bacteriology from UCLA and a Doctor of Pharmacy from USC. He is a clinical pharmacist with an extensive background in oncology having served as an oncology pharmacist at UCLA Medical Center from 1980 to 1992. Quan was directly involved with guiding the UCLA Gene Medicine Program through six difficult FDA Biomonitoring Audits in 2000 to a successful conclusion.
